  1. attrition 消耗 (noun): a natural loss of individuals (They're trying to stop the attrition of their rights.)
  2. circumvent (verb): to avoid (They opened an office abroad in order to circumvent the tax laws.)
  3. cohesive 有结合力的 (adj): connected (A family needs to be cohesive - to stay together even when stresses and strains threaten to tear it apart.)
  4. grievous 痛苦的 (adj): terrible (Her death was a grievous shock)
  5. inundate 淹没 (verb): to flood (We were inundate with applications for the job.)
  6. oblivious 未察觉 (adj): not noticing (She was oblivious to our warnings. )
