vocabulary 10


  1. autonomy 自治 (noun): freedom from control (They demand self-autonomy for the Palestinians.)
  2. bureaucratic 官僚的 (adj): over-regulated (Bureaucratic organizations can become so bogged 陷于泥沼down in regulation that almost no work gets done.)
  3. mandate 授权(noun): official permission (The President had a clear mandate to end the war.)
  4. ostracize 放逐 (verb): to reject (The family were ostracized  by the neighborhood.)
  5. raucous 粗声的 (adj): disorderly (I heard sounds of raucous laughter upstairs.)
  6. recourse 求助 (noun): a choice (His only recourse was the police.)
  7. reiterate (verb): to repeat (The boy do not move though the teacher reiterate her command.)
  8. tantamount相似 (adj): just like (Charging three dollars for a cup of coffee is tantamount to robbery.)
  9. tenacious 坚持的 (adj): grasping strongly (We should be tenacious of our rights.)
  10. utopia 理想国 (noun): a paradise (Everyone has a different idea of utopia. A situation that seems perfect to me might make miserable.)
